This is the master page documenting the 2026-06-26 maintenance.
I am posting this notice on Monday, 2026-06-22, about maintenance on Friday, the 26th (UTC time.) The maintenance was announced yesterday. I apologize for the short notice.
This maintenance involves our upstream ISP, Ardent Networks. They are physically moving equipment from one building to another.
I have no involvement in this maintenance. If my comments are necessary, I will add them to this document. However, I will most likely be sleeping through all of it.
All VPSs on Slow Servers will be unreachable. SporeStack will be down. Servers launched through SporeStack that are not on Slow Servers will not be impacted (that's almost all of them.)
Six hours. 2026-06-26 from 06:00 to 12:00 UTC. In local time (PDT, UTC-7), it's 23:00 2026-06-25 (Thursday) to 05:00 2026-06-26 (Friday).
I'll quote the maintenance message that I have seen. The times stated are in Pacific Daylight Savings Time (UTC-7.)
We will be performing planned maintenance from Thursday, June 25 at 11:00 PM until Friday, June 26 at 5:00 AM.
During this window, we will be physically relocating network equipment from one cabinet to another. This work requires moving edge routers and cross-connects, which will result in a full service outage for at least one hour during the maintenance window.
Additional brief interruptions may occur while equipment is reconnected and service is verified.
We will restore service as quickly as possible once the work is complete.
I could mitigate this by using BGP and switching over to another carrier. However, this should be a one time equipment move. I'm very happy with Ardent Networks and any transit provider would likely cost at least $200/month. As Slow Servers is still losing money and this is a one time event, I'm not going to try to mitigate this. However, I apologize in advance for the inconvenience. If this impacts you negatively, please let me know.
Sorry, no Tor .onion for the status.slowservers.net, yet!
The normal SporeStack and Slow Servers support emails should work just fine before and during the maintenance.
If you have questions beforehand, please ask!
